IU looks to expand, increase diversity

The number of underrepresented minorities – which includes IU’s black, Hispanic and Native American populations – on Bloomington’s campus is supposed to double by the 2013-14 school year, IU officials said. In May 2006, IU’s board of trustees voted in favor of a measure making the increase official.

RHA documents detail election code violations

The Hoosier Compass ticket violated seven election codes during the Residence Halls Association elections March 3, according to an RHA Elections Commission document, but two complaints filed by the ticket against the Chuck Norris ticket were denied.

Bloomington arts council celebrates 35 years

Free art-focused seminars offered to creative community

Concert promotes suicide prevention and awareness

Suicide is the third-leading cause of death for Americans ages 15 to 24, largely because most people don’t want to talk about it, said Kyle Ferguson, president and founding member of the Alive Campaign, a grassroots organization created to raise awareness about and prevent suicides.

Holi Indian festival celebrates end of winter festival

The Indian end-of-winter Holi festival is coming to IU. The Asian Culture Center will start the celebration of the Holi festival at 6 p.m. today at the center, according to an ACC press release.

Hoosiers dominate Eagles in 18-3 win

Organizations hope to tie business to Little 500

While most students spend the week of Little 500 at happy hour and themed parties, serious business students have the opportunity to compete in a different kind of race. Through the conjunction of Women in Business and business fraternities Alpha Kappa Psi and Delta Sigma Pi, the first-ever Kelley 500 case competition will take place from the first week of April through April 18.

Former Cutter rider goes greek

He wanted to join ATO his first year at IU, but because of his desire to ride for a good bike team and his uncertainty as to whether greek life was right for him, he decided to ride for the Cutters
