School bus kills Ind. man

Delphi, IN – Forty-year-old Kasey A. Schnepp, of Burlington, died after his car slid into the path of a school bus on U.S. 421 near Delphi at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, said the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. There were 28 students on the bus. Eleven people, including the bus driver, were taken to Lafayette-area hospitals because of minor injuries.

The State Advisory Board of the Division of Professional Standards voted today to pass new teacher licensing regulations ensuring all new teachers are experts in the subjects they teach and allow professionals from other careers to enter education.

Comic Warren B. Hall returns to Funny Bone

Originally from Bloomington, Hall has been featured on Last Comic Standing, The Bob and Tom Show and Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. However, being on Last Comic Standing has not really opened any doors, Hall said. Appearing on the show doesn’t help as much as people think.

Ohio State coach Thad Matta took a timeout 47 seconds in the first half, after junior guard Jeremiah Rivers’ dunk.The 30-second speech worked.The Buckeyes went on an early 29-6 run and IU shot 30 percent from the field in the first half.  In the end, the Hoosiers fell 79-54 in their Big Ten road opener.

Simply put, the IU men’s basketball team’s first Big Ten road game couldn’t have gone any worse. Aside from a 14-for-17 effort from the free throw line and a game-high 22 points from sophomore guard Verdell Jones, it’s hard to pinpoint anything else that went right for the Hoosiers.
