Child locked out of home

A 3-year-old girl is now in custody after being locked outside of an apartment Wednesday in the 500 block of Basswood Drive.

A neighbor contacted the Bloomington Police Department at about 1:30 p.m., informing them that the child was locked outside on the balcony of an apartment.

The parents could not be contacted at the time of the incident. According to the report, the child was “wearing street clothes and a winter jacket.”

The neighbor witnessed a male and female leave the apartment an hour before police arrived.
