Police find drugs and shotgun

Sawed-off rifle, pills found in apartment

On Wednesday, Josh T.W. Stryde, 34, was arrested at his apartment at 1005 N. Rogers St. on preliminary charges of dealing marijuana.

Stryde was a suspect in a drug investigation. Bloomington Police Department secured a search warrant, served at 9:26 p.m.

When officers entered, they smelled burning marijuana coming from the back bedroom of the apartment. They found $247 in cash and multiple clear plastic bags of a substance believed to be marijuana on his person. A notebook, which appeared to be a pay sheet, was also discovered.

“What were believed to be Xanax and ecstasy pills were also found on his person,” said the Bloomington Police report, written by Det. Brandon Lopossa. The pills will be sent to the lab for confirmation, the report said.

Officers found “almost a pound of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a .22 rifle which appeared to be in the process of being sawed down,” said Sgt. Jeff Canada, reading from the report.

The serial number was filed off the gun.
