Geoff Bradley, who served as a deputy prosecutor in Monroe County for 14 years, has been elected to the Division 1 court. Prior to those 14 years, Bradley served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Ohio.

More than 1.5 million Hoosiers have already voted with two days left until Election Day, according to the Washington Post. This number is about 53% of the total amount of votes cast and more than two times the total amount of early votes in Indiana for the 2016 general election.

Dr. Woody Myers — the Democratic candidate for Indiana’s gubernatorial race — is a physician who has worked in an intensive care unit and served as Indiana’s state health commissioner under two governors and New York City’s health commissioner in 1990. He believes Indiana’s public schools need more funding and that the state needs a stricter mask mandate.

While Election Day is still several days away, many states already have had thousands of ballots returned and counted ahead of time. In Indiana, more than one million ballots have already been returned by mail or given early in-person, according to the U.S. Elections Project. While hundreds of thousands of people will still turn out to the polls on Election Day, nationwide and state specific polls are already attempting to call the election.

In September 2018, the New York Times published an opinion piece that harshly criticized the president’s policies. However, in a rare step, the newspaper did not reveal the identity of the person who wrote the piece, only saying it was written by a senior official in the Trump administration. For months, theories circulated that the piece was written by now-former Defense Secretary Gen. James Mattis, now-former Chief of Staff John Kelly and even Vice President Mike Pence.

The U.S. Supreme Court uphelda Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision Oct. 19 that allows mail-in ballots to be counted until Nov. 6, three days after Election Day, as long as the envelopes are postmarked by Election Day, according to a Politico article.

Only Indiana county election officials can request their polling locations extend their voting hours beyond 6 p.m. after the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the Indiana election law Friday. The Monroe County Election Board may request an extension in the event of difficulties on Election Day, Monroe County Election Supervisor Karen Wheeler said.

Monroe County will have 28 polling places open Tuesday. Unlike during early voting, where all voters had to go to Election Central to vote, Monroe County voters must go to their assigned polling place on Election Day.

Following hours long waits at the early voting polls, Monroe County voters will now have more time to get their vote in before election day, but still only one polling location.
