UPDATE:
Here are a couple of tweets with some players in the amc:
The women did not improve their team finish from 2009, finishing in fourth place again, but the men’s team moved up one spot to fifth. Minnesota won the men’s overall team championship, while Penn State won the women’s overall. But the Hoosiers, still a fairly youthful team, are not disappointed by their finish.
While Gary Harris, Jeremy Hollowell and Aaron Thomas all have received scholarship offers from the Hoosiers, this weekend marked the first time many of the Hoosier faithful caught a glimpse of the potential signees. The three players have become a hot commodity for several Big Ten and other Midwestern schools during this summer’s AAU circuit.
IU pulled in three event wins and two second place finishes on day two of the Big Tens. Derek Drouin won the high jump, Faith Sherrill won the shot put, and De'Sean Turner won the 3,000m steeplechase. Both Sarah Pease and Andrew Poore came second in the steeplechase.
Former Hoosier and current Oklahoma City Thunder player DJ White will be hosting his 2nd annual DJ White Hoosier Stars Basketball Camp on Saturday, September 18. The camp will be held from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center.
Austin Etherington wont be playing in the adidas May Classic this year, he is sitting out with a back injury.
Key players to watch on Saturday:
Last night we caught up with several players IU is reportedly interested in, including Darryl Baker (Jeffersonville), Devin Davis (Warren Central), Kellen Dunham (Pendleton Heights), Gary Harris (Hamilton SE), Ron Patterson (Broad Ripple), and Kellon Thomas (Southport).
The IU women's tennis team was defeated 4-0 by #28 Vanderbilt(14-9) in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
The IU wrestling team has the 7th best recruiting class in the country, according to Intermat's recruiting rankings. Five of the 11 wrestlers are ranked in the top 100 individual rankings including two ranked under #50.
The IU women finished Friday in 3rd place with 10 points, while the men finished tied for 6th with 8 points. IU scored in every event of the day.
For those of you interested in checking out the tournament today, here are some players of interest that are playing tonight:
The 6-foot-6, 185-pound Warren Central forward Devin Davis just finished his freshman season but has landed offers from both Purdue and IU in the last week.
Ambry Moss, a native of Providence, Bahamas, has just signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the IU men's soccer team this fall.
The Hoosiers look to be a force to be reckoned with this weekend at Robert C. Haugh Complex, where they will host this year’s conference championship, especially after the women’s team moved into the Division I top-25 rankings, up 12 spots from their previous rank of 34th. The team’s change in ranking is mainly a result of their success at Billy Hayes Invitational last week, where the men’s and women’s teams combined to win seven events.
Santa Margarita High School diver, Conor Murphy, will be joining the squad in the fall of 2010.
The IU men's basketball team has achieved a 3.16 GPA for the spring semester, according to coach Tom Crean.
