Last night we caught up with several players IU is reportedly interested in, including Darryl Baker (Jeffersonville), Devin Davis (Warren Central), Kellen Dunham (Pendleton Heights), Gary Harris (Hamilton SE), Ron Patterson (Broad Ripple), and Kellon Thomas (Southport).

Some highlights of last night:

  • U16 Indiana Elite, consisting of Kellen Dunham, Ron Patterson, and Kellon Thomas, defeated Team Illinois 70-27. Dunham scored 17 pts, Thomas had 13 points, and Patterson finished with 10. Verdell Jones' younger brother also plays for the Indiana Elite team.
  • Gordon, had this to say of Davis:Devin Davis (Warren Central) had 13 points in his team's buzzer beater win over the U15 Indiana Elite Stars. Former Hoosier Eric Gordon was on hand to watch his namesake club team, the E. Gordon All-Stars, win in easily the most exciting game of the night.
  • "He's really talented. He's really long and hopefully he'll get a chance to play here, but since he is playing for me I just hope the best for him."
  • Gordon's younger brother plays for the All-Stars, presumably the reason he made his first trip back to Assembly Hall since bolting school early for the NBA draft.

Davis has quite a few Hoosier connections, as his high school coach is former Hoosier great Greg Graham. It should be interesting to see how much influence playing for an AAU team with a recent Hoosier connection and playing for Graham, will have on his college decision. The 2013 recruit currently has offers from Indiana and Purdue.
