Freshman Leslie Hureau has been named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Ohio Valley Region Rookie of the Year. The award is handed to 12 individuals across the country.
During her freshman year, Hureau had 25 singles and 19 doubles victories. She also defeated the #38 ranked singles player, Maria Sorbello of Tennessee. Hureau was ranked as high as #101 during the season.
Coach Lin Loring had this to say abotut Hureau (per IU):
I'm very pleased for Leslie. She had an outstanding freshman year both on the court and in the classroom. Despite all of her individual success she was also the total team player. It was a pleasure having her on the team this year. The really exciting news is that we have her for three more years.
