The IU women’s basketball team was still filled with hurt and heartache 30 minutes after its Big Ten Tournament ended. The women sat lifelessly in the Conseco Fieldhouse locker room, trying
to cope after they coughed up a 14-point first-half lead en route to a
64-68 loss to in-state rival Purdue.

In basketball, March signifies one thing: the NCAA tournament. With no
spot solidified for the Hoosiers, a win against the 10th-place team in
the conference would only help their case to get in. The Hoosiers got
that win Sunday, defeating Michigan 67-61 on Senior Day.

Any losing streak is tough. The women’s basketball team is on a
three-game one, having lost four of its last five games. IU hopes to
break its longest losing streak tonight against Michigan State (17-7,
10-3) at Assembly Hall.

With the loss yesterday to Illinois, the Indiana women's basketball team now how lost four of their last five dropping them to 15-7, 8-5, which places them alone in fifth place in the conference. With the NCAA tournament starting in little less than a month I think it's relevant to ask the question will this be a tournament team? Or what do they need to do to become a tournament team?

Some things never change. And for the Hoosiers, not being able to win in Iowa City, Iowa, has become a trend.

Charlie Creme from ESPN.com updated his latest tournament seedings. If you can remember back a few weeks ago, Creme had the Hoosiers listed as an #8 seed in the same bracket with #1 seed North Carolina. Well this week much hasn't changed the Hoosiers are still listed at an 8 seed. This time, #1 and still undefeated UConn is in the same bracket as the Hoosiers.

After an emotional win against your bitter in-state rival, you can go
one of two ways: You can either use the victory as momentum for the
next game, or you can have a letdown.
Well, at least for Thursday night, the Hoosiers chose the former.

"They are all big wins." That's what Felisha Legette-Jack told me after I congratulated her after a win earlier in the season. Although I did not congratulate her after the Hoosiers (13-3, 6-1), 71-57, win over in-state rival Purdue (12-6, 5-2) I'm sure she would say this one was a little bit bigger then others. Anyway this win puts IU at 6-1 in the Big Ten Conference and tied with Ohio State atop of the league.

First off it's COLD! Besides that we are about set for tip-off, but before the game starts senior Whitney Thomas will be honored for becoming the newest member of the 1,000 point club.
