Indiana volleyball traveled to Michigan for its final regular season match of the 2023 season. After a win Friday at Michigan State the Hoosiers — for the first time since 2002 — notched a 10-win Big Ten season and 20-win season. Indiana took down the Wolverines in four sets, winning 3-1.

As senior day activities loomed post-match, Indiana volleyball faced one of the most challenging opponents of its season — the No. 3 ranked Wisconsin Badgers. Indiana fell in three straight sets to the Badgers and suffered its third home loss of the season.

After two weeks on the road and a 1-3 record in its road series, Indiana volleyball returned to Bloomington on Friday for a match against Rutgers. Indiana looked for the season sweep after taking the first match on the road in four sets on November 3 and was able to do so, winning the match in Bloomington in three sets.

Indiana volleyball finished a four-match road streak Saturday at Ohio State. Entering the match, Indiana sat at 7-6 in conference play compared to Ohio State’s record of 5-8. The Hoosiers were looking for their third straight victory over the Buckeyes dating back to November 2022.

After falling on the road in a close five-set match to Illinois on Oct. 25, Indiana traveled north to Northwestern for a Sunday matinee match. Indiana entered the match sitting in a three-way tie with Illinois and Minnesota at 6-5 in Big Ten Play while Northwestern entered at 4-7 in conference play after dropping its last three matches.

A week after Indiana knocked off No. 15 Purdue in Bloomington, the Hoosiers traveled to West Lafayette on Wednesday for their final regular season match against the in-state rival. The Hoosiers were looking to sweep the Boilermakers for the first time since 2002 but dropped the match 3-1.

After taking down No. 15 Purdue at home, Indiana volleyball continued its homestand hosting Michigan on Saturday. Michigan entered the matchup 3-13 overall and 1-6 in conference play under first year head coach Erin Virtue, while the Hoosiers entered 14-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

Indiana and Maryland faced off Saturday night after both teams played conference matchups the night before. Indiana lost to No. 14 Penn Statein a tough five set match, while Maryland beat No. 16 Minnesota for the first time in program history in another hard-fought five set match. The Hoosiers swept the Terrapins in College Park, picking up their first Big Ten road win of the season.

Indiana visited head coach Steve Aird’s alma mater No. 14 Penn State for a Friday night match. The Nittany Lions entered the match 4-0 in Big Ten play while Indiana stood at 2-2. While Indiana took the match to five sets, Penn State won 3-2.

Entering the weekend 2-2 in Big Ten play, Indiana volleyball is set to hit the road for its first away series, heading to Penn State and Maryland on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Indiana head coach Steve Aird has ties to both programs and has coached at both universities during his career.

Indiana volleyball played in front of its first-ever sellout crowd at Wilkinson Hall on Saturday against No. 2 Nebraska. The Hoosiers shocked the Huskers in the first set with a 25-23 upset, but lost the following three sets 23-25, 15-25 and 19-25. The match marked the second of Indiana’s four nationally televised matches airing on the Big Ten Network.
