The Jayhawks are on the bill for the second night of an Americana invasion of sorts at the Bluebird this week. Following Brett Dennen and Blind Pilot tonight and leading into Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson's show Thursday, the Minneapolis alt-country pioneers will headline there tomorrow, promoting their brand new album, September's Mockingbird Time. To the elation of their 25-year old fanbase, the album represents a comeback for a group who has done no significant recording nor touring since releasing their previous album, Rainy Day Music, in 2003. For more information on The Jayhawks, ask any member of the audience tomorrow, which will inevitably consist heavily of longtime fans who probably all own copies of their eponymous 1986 debut.
