The Broderick

w/ The Natives

@ The Bishop

Thursday, October 13

9 p.m.

$4

That one here and that one there, but Thursday night at The Bishop, members of local band The Natives will be seen all together at 9 p.m. opening for The Broderick. Didn't get the reference? The band's five members, Aaron Frazer, Coleman Lowndes, Justin Hubler, Kyle Houpt and Daniel Topp, are tangled in at least five separate musical projects in Bloomington -- including bluesy swaggers Charlie Patton's War and pop-up, beat-rock band Fluffer. But maybe that's what makes The Natives such a Bloomington favorite, the collaboration of so many genres. With their Spring release of My Song is Gonna Set Me Free, drummer Frazer said the band will continue to show a new look to their Americana attitude. Complementing The Natives will be The Broderick, whose members enjoy making BBQ, long drives in a van, sleeping on floors, and vanity plates when not making delicious indie albums. Get ready to sway with your "baby-n-a-bind" and sing along.
