BRAIDS, the caps-happy, dreamy art-rockers from Canada, will continue their fall North American tour at The Bishop tomorrow night. The co-ed foursome has ridden positive reviews of their debut album, January's Native Speaker, straight into the limelight this year. It even earned them a Polaris shortlist nomination (given to ten Canadian artists with the best albums of the year), casting them into good company alongside fellow hype-magnets Destroyer, The Weeknd, and Colin Stetson. (They lost out to - duh - Arcade Fire's The Suburbs). Recently, they've been hitting the road hard with their electro-infused, mildly ambient sound while accumulating cred via opening sets for modern indie heavyweights like Deerhunter. On tour with them and sharing the bill tomorrow are Pepper Rabbit and Painted Palms.
