After Best Coast came out with their debut album, Crazy For You I thought to myself: it doesn't get any better than this. Bethany Consentino's vocals over fuzzed out guitar seemed to be the perfect music for making out and laying in the sun...and then there was TENNIS.
Meet: TENNIS, a lo-fi surf rock husband-and-wife duo, from Denver, Colorado consisting of Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore. The idea for the project began a couple of years ago when Alaina made fun of Patrick for playing Tennis in college. The couple then decided to escape from Denver to spend eight months sailing and exploring the North Atlantic coast. During this time they formed TENNIS. Their music is fun and carefree, and is reminiscent of the pop girl groups of the 1960s.
They just signed to Fat Possum Records on Oct. 7 and will be coming out with their full-length debut in January 2011.
