$7 @ Bear's Place(21+). W/Everybody and The Broderick. 9 p.m.

Formerly of lo-fi heroes Eric's Trip(yes, named after the Sonic Youth song), Canadian singer/songwriter Julie Doiron will bring her ever so present, empathetic lyrics and finely-crafted melodies and fingerwork.

Her latest album, I Can Wonder What You Did With Your Day, brought about a much happier, optimistic side of Doiron. The sound is subsequently a bit poppier and catchy. Her previous solo efforts were so personal they were authentic, yet so relatable at the same time.

The same goes for her newest, except this time her sweet hopeful nature becomes contagious.

I saw Doiron perform last October in the now defunct venue the Cinemat, and I think Bear's will also transcend that intimate atmosphere.
