Starting promptly at 9:30 p.m. at the Cinemat, a melange of some of Bloomington's best local bands and two nationally known indie rock bands--Crystal Stilts and Woods--will inject a very much needed dose of rhythm and energy into IU student's week-after-spring-break hangover blues.

Fresh from playing at South by Southwest (SXSW) musical festival in Austin, both Crystal Stilts and Woods have been recently added to the scheduled performers tonight.

Hailing from Brooklyn NY, Crystal Stilts is a minimalist post-punk band consisting of five members: JB Townsend, Brad Hargett, Andy Adler, Miss Frankie Rose and Kyle Forester. Together they have managed to create a perfect college band.

Crystal Stilts sound like they have combined the echoed-up vocals of Ian Curtis, the infectious percussion of New Order and the beer-battered rocking of bands like Titus Andronicus. This may sound like a dirtier, less-polished Joy Division, but they're not. They are just raw garage rock unleashed with pure passion and unbridled emotion.

Luckily for listeners and Crystal Stilts, the band has recently been garnering media and critical attention fromm online music website, Pitchfork.com. Pitchfork.tv's latest episode of "A>D>D," features Crystal Stilts playing six of of their hits, a little over half of their debut album "Alight of the Night." Watch it here.

Woods joins Crystal Stilts as one of five out-of-state band performing tonight. Their psychedic melodies and extended jams well compliment the Crystal Stilts. Woods has played with the Crystal Stilts for their last two shows.
