I think we all receive presents that we don't particularly care for every holiday season. These unwanted gifts usually end up in our closets or trunks, making friends with dust bunnies. We usually feel guilty for letting them go to waste, but don't know else do.

Starting this holiday season, Landlocked Music will take your unwanted gift cards in exchange for something wonderful in their store!

The purpose of the trade is to get more people to shop at local, independent businesses. Landlocked will take cards from: Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, Borders, Barnes & Noble, Kroger, Lowe's and Menards.

There are a few rules though:

1) The gift card must be from a chain competitor; they don't trade on other indie stores' gift cards.

2) They can't accept giftcards from Circuit City because they're going out of business.

3) The gift card's value must be verifiable via phone or the internet. That means that they can

only accept a card if it has an 800-number or website where the value of the

card can be confirmed - see the back of your card if you're not sure.

4)The competitor's gift card must not expire for at least 6 months from the

date of exchange.

Sounds fair enough!

Now you don't have to pretend to be happy when you receive that unusable present.

Happy holidays,

Katie
