I sat comfortably in a cushion-y recliner, in the screening room of The Cinemat, as I watched The Donkeys play a groovy yet funny set.

The screen behind the band showed '60s images of what made me think of Cali- mostly surfers. One of the band members said it just made him homesick. They played songs like "Nice Train" and "Gone Gone Gone." I was feeling the California sun on a particularly fall day in B-town. But they seemed to be having quite a time in Bloomington, too.

The Donkeys also made homemade, tye-dyed t-shirts at $20, which I purchased. Band member Tim made a great sales pitch to me, and I didn't keep the white wire hanger that accompanied my wonderful tee for obvious reasons. Mommie Dearest, anyone??

Picture up of the tye-dye tee soon, and I met a fellow by the name of David who was taking pics during the set and said he would send me his.

E-mail me at ohstefania@gmail.com if you went to the show and want to share as well.
