Ready oar not
The rowing team begins action this season when they host the Lemonhead Regatta on Sept. 27. The Hoosier are coached by Steve Peterson, now entering his sixth year at IU.

Put the tees in the ground
This weekend marks the opening for both the men's and women's Golf Seasons. The men lead by coach Mayer will head up to Wolf Run in Zionsville, Indiana for the Wolf Run Intercollegiate.

Big Ten Power Rankings, Week 1
So I'm hoping to do this every week. It'll keep me on my toes evaluating the other Big Ten teams and allow you a great opportunity to disagree with me. Before I begin, I wanted to point out that IU currently sits atop the Big Ten standings, since the only team that lost (Illinois) is also the only conference team preceding IU in alphabetical order.

We saw this on YouTube today. In it, 2010 recruit Victor Oladipo and freshman Maurice Creek perform in a dunk contest at what looks like a frat house in Bloomington.

No. 133 recruit from 2010 Victor Oladipo on his way, has IU in top-3
Victor Oladipo, the No. 133 recruit in the class of 2010, is currently on his way to Bloomington, his high school coach Mike Jones recently confirmed. Jones said Oladipo probably has IU in his top 3 schools, along with Notre Dame and North Carolina State. More to come as his visit to IU commences. UPDATE: Oladipo's flight (the only one out of Baltimore heading to Indianapolis) is set to take off at 4:15 p.m., putting him in Indianapolis by 6:00 p.m.

Big day for IDS previews
With the new season just 24 hours away from kicking off, there is a buzz humming around campus that hasn't been there in a while. The newsroom is no exception. In tomorrow's IDS, look for an in-depth preview from beat reporter Nathan Hart, a special side feature regarding the running back situation here in Bloomington from Greg Rosenstein, and a column by myself on the top five reasons to attend the Hoosiers' home opener. A new season, a new set of bloggers
Indiana soccer players will put on a crimson jersey and run Jerry Yeagley field at the point of exhaustion beginning Friday and Kevin Loughery and I will post up blogs and type until there is nothing more to say to bring Hoosier soccer to your screen.
