Oladipo coming to Hoosier Hysteria

Victor Oladipo, who committed to IU after his Sept. 3 official visit, said he will attend Hoosier Hysteria tomorrow. He will be there along with a list of hopeful Hoosiers who IU is still trying to convince that Bloomington is the place for them. Oladipo called the Indiana Daily Student this evening and confirmed that he will be at Assembly Hall for the inaugural scrimmage.

A different kind of 'Hysteria'

Last year, fans were more wary than excited about Hoosier Hysteria, the annual event previewing the IU men's basketball season. While IU has a bit of newness still associated with this year's team, fans have some idea who will be walking out during introductions and won't be totally unaware of the playing styles of IU athletes. IU is starting to get back what it once had, an event where people actually knew who they were coming to see, but also some sense of normalcy. Hoosier Hysteria is always tons of fun for IU fans, but my guess is you all will have a bit better time seeing recognizable players take the court. This is my assumption about what y'all think.

Jeremiah Davis not coming for Hoosier Hysteria

Jeremiah Davis, the No. 40 recruit in the nation for 2011 and hot IU prospect, will not be in attendance at Hoosier Hysteria Friday. Davis told me via text message earlier today that he would be at his little brother's football game instead. We're currently working on developing a list of who will be here and who won't.

IU's true colors shone through for one of the first times this year in Wednesday's 3-0 victory over Notre Dame. "It was definitely a confident booster for us, and we just needed to get one in the back and I knew the flood gates would open after that," senior Darren Yeagle said.

Etherington, Hollowell, Kaminski talk Hoosier Hysteria, recruitment, open gym

Trying to put together some sort of list for recruits who will be attending Hoosier Hysteria and I've picked up some other tidbits along the way. First, Hanner Perea, a 6-foot-8 power sophomore forward currently attending school in North Carolina will be there, according to his AAU coach. *** Second, got a hold of 2011 IU commit Austin Etherington, who not only will be there, but just left Assembly Hall minutes ago after playing in an open gym.

A Luis Soffner fingertip save in the final seconds of Saturday's game at Michigan was the deciding factor in IU's 1-0 win. The Hoosiers advance to 6-4-1 (2-0) and snap a two-game losing streak. Andy Adlard, last weeks co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, punched in IU's lone goal.
