The Big Ten announced its new bowl lineup (effective 2010-2014) this week. The conference will now have five bowl games on Jan. 1 and eight total bowl games (contingent on signing a contract with the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl in Detroit - formerly the Motor City Bowl).
The Alamo Bowl and the Champs Sports Bowl are no longer in the Big Ten bowl rotation, but the Gator Bowl, Texas Bowl and Dallas Football Classic (a Jan. 1 bowl) will join the bowl rotation.
Here's the rundown:
- Rose/BCS vs. Pac-10/BCS, Jan. 1
- Capitol One vs. Sec, Jan. 1
- Outback vs. SEC, Jan. 1
- Gator vs. SEC, Jan. 1
- Insight vs. Big 12, Dec. 31
- Texas vs. Big 12, late December
- Dallas Football Classic vs. C-USA, Jan. 1
- (likely) Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl vs. MAC
