Last week, I moved Penn State above Iowa for the top spot in the conference. While I felt justified last week to make the move based on the play of both schools, I feel even more justified this week to leave it that way.
Despite a two-game losing streak that included giving up 25- and 14-point leads, IU is still in position for a bowl.

IU men's golfer, Ren Han, finished 11th place at this weekend's Asian Amateur Championship in his hometown of Shenzen, China. Han lead the tournament after the first round with a seven under par 65 but closed with rounds of 78, 68 and 76 to finish the tournament at one under par. The winner of the Asian Amateur Championship receives an exemption into the 2010 Masters. Han will rejoin his teammates this week after they return home from the Renaissance Invitational in Naples, Fla. The lineup for the last tournament of the fall for the Hoosiers is senior Alex Martin, sophomores David Erdy and Chase Wright, and freshman Brant Peaper and Corey Ziedonis.
The IU volleyball team lost another five-set marathon Saturday, its second such defeat of the season at the hands of Northwestern. The Hoosiers (14-12, 3-9) had seven match points in an epic fifth set before falling to the Wildcats (13-11, 4-8). Northwestern won by scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-17, 17-25 and 24-22. Northwestern junior middle blocker Sabel Moffett provided more of the same against IU with 23 kills at a .381 hitting percentage and six total blocks. Four Hoosiers registered double-digit kills; senior outside hitter Kelsey Hall led the team with 18.

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Heading into halftime, IU held a 21-7 lead against the undefeated No. 7 Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hoosiers were poised to pull off the biggest win of their season. But then they played the second half. IU surrendered 35 points in the final two quarters, including two long touchdown plays from the Iowa offense, and the Hoosiers lost their fifth game in their past six outings. The Hawkeyes totaled 265 yards in the fourth quarter and scored four touchdowns to turn a 24-14 third quarter Hoosier lead into a 42-24 final score. Two of the touchdowns were one-play drives for the Hawkeyes.
IU field hockey defeated the Michigan Wolverines 4-2 in their last regular season game. The No. 18 Hoosiers (12-5, 4-2) move forward to the Big Ten Tournament currently on a five-game win streak. Indiana started the game with a goal by freshman forward Morgan Fleetwood in the 12th minute. The Wolverines responded with a goal five minutes later from junior forward Alicia Mayer. At the 23rd minute, Hoosiers scored off an unassisted goal from junior midfielder Kelsey Kiper. Before halftime was over Michigan scored off a penalty stroke from junior midfielder Meredith Way. IU finished the game with two goals within five minutes of each other from sophomore back Brenna Moeljadi and sophomore forward Corey Brautigam. Four goals were scored by four different athletes on the Hoosiers side. IU plays in the Big Ten tournament in East Lansing, Mich from November 5-9.
