IU freshman Maurice Creek underwent surgery on his knee Tuesday for a fracture suffered against Bryant in a 48-point win. Monday gave IU its largest win of the season, but also yielded its biggest loss. Creek, who was averaging 16.4 points in his freshman season is not expected to return this year, but IU coach Tom Crean said after visiting Creek and his family that he is expected to make a full recovery. Crean has tweeted several times about the affect the loss of Creek will have on the team, saying that his players understand "it just got alot tougher 4 us." Here are a few comments on his time with Creek: "In visiting with Dr. Steve Ahlfeld, the surgery went very well and we expect a full recovery," said Crean.
UPDATE (8:20, Tuesday): via Tom Crean's Twitter: "The surgery was successful and Dr. Ahlfeld feels very good about it.
Freshman Maurice Creek's season ended just 12 games into the 2009-2010 campaign as he suffered a fractured left knee in the second half against Bryant on Monday.
IU freshman guard Maurice Creek fractured his left knee in the Hoosiers' 90-42 victory against Bryant University on Monday and will not return this season, coach Tom Crean said. Crean said Creek will have surgery to repair the knee tomorrow.
IU coach Bill Lynch has roped in his second hard commitment this month, as cornerback Lenyatta Kiles has signed a National Letter of Intent, Lynch announced today. Kiles, just like the Hoosiers' first commitment, linebacker Jeff Thomas, is a junior college transfer.

Is Jordan Hulls the player IU wants on the court? Which big man provides the best minutes? I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season.
I've been trying to make sense of IU's successes and failures at the free throw line this year. But I'm struggling. The Facts The Hoosiers currently (as of 9:45 p.m.
Just saw this link on IU men's basketball target Josh Selby's Twitter account. Apparently, he didn't even know it existed until today.
(See Sean Morrison's post below this one for post-game audio from coach Tom Crean and players). Here are some notes from Loyola's 72-67 victory against the Hoosiers on Tuesday night. End-of-game decisions After Rivers missed a shot with 37 seconds remaining, IU allowed 20 seconds to go off the clock before fouling Loyola's Brett Harvey.
No video today (can't access the tape players at the IDS) so here's some audio from the game. Crean's audio file is too big, so we'll post the video from IU Athletics ASAP.
Loyola surrendered all of its 24-point lead to Indiana. But they didn't collapse. After jumping out to a 48-26 halftime lead, Loyola held on in the second half to win on Tuesday night 72-67.
The Loyola basketball team walked into Assembly Hall to begin warmups an hour and 15 minutes before the game started. IU has yet to show up. The Greyhounds (5-5) jumped out to a 15-0 advantage as IU had more turnovers (eight) than field goal attempts (five). Of course, IU didn't make any of those shot attempts either. Loyola extended its lead to a 46-28 halftime margin.
