Ferguson named Academic All-American

Tennis player Lachlan Ferguson has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America third team, and is the first IU men's tennis player to ever earn that honor. IU men's tennis coach Randy Bloemendaal had this to say of Ferguson's acheivements: "I am very proud of Lachlan and his continued success in the classroom," Bloemendaal said.

Beckwith, Drouin USTFCCCA Athletes of the year

Molly Beckwith was named the Women's track athlete of the year for the Great Lakes Region, and Derek Drouin was named the Men's Field Athlete of the year for the Great Lakes Region as well. The athletes were chosen by Division I coaching votes. Both Beckwith and Drouin will compete in the NCAA Outdoor Championships June 9-12 in Eugene, Ore.

Women's basketball promotes within

Former assistant coach Jose Mori has been promoted to Associate Head Coach, after being in her prior position for three seasons. Also, Stephanie Siller is now Assistant Athletics Director for Women's Basketball Administration from Director of Basketball Operations.

Chappell picked as IU's irreplaceable player

ESPN's Adam Rittenberg recently ranked the Big Ten's most irreplaceable players, and picked Ben Chappell for Indiana. This is what Rittenberg said about Chappell: History shows that for Indiana to have a chance at a bowl game, it needs to put up a lot of points.
