Hamilton Heights small forward and 2011 IU commit Austin Etherington was in Bloomington on Saturday along with many other top men's basketball recruits to catch the Michigan vs. IU football game.
Etherington took a few minutes to talk with the IDS about his time at IU this weekend:
ON HOW THE VISIT WENT
It was great. I played open gym in the afternoon with some of the guys (on the IU team) and some recruits that came in. Overall, it was really fun.
ON WHO IMPRESSED HIM AT OPEN GYM
Hanner (Perea) showed that he can play above the rim at any point. Jeremy (Hollowell) played pretty well, too.
ON WHAT HE AND THE OTHER HIGH SCHOOLERS DID ON SATURDAY
After we played, we all walked over to the game together. We also went to the academic center and got to talk with the Athletic Director. At Memorial Stadium, we went on the field while Michigan and Indiana were warming up. It was cool to be out there in front of the crowd. Later we sat in the stands and watched the game.
ON THE ATMOSPHERE AT MEMORIAL STADIUM
It was definitely a good game to have all of those guys there. A lot of people think IU football is not as strong as Michigan, but they played a great game. The fans were unbelievable. It just shows how much Indiana fans love their teams.
Stay with the IDS and Hoosier Hype for more updates on IU men's basketball recruiting.
