UPDATE: 9:18 p.m. Matt Bashore has just been chosen by the Minnesota Twins at pick No. 46, completing the trio of Hoosiers pretty much guaranteed to go on day one.

The MLB talking heads, who I'm growing less and less forgiving of, say Bashore isn't overpowering, but has an "easy" delivery, meaning "there's plenty to work with there." I'm not sure what that means. I'm not sure they're sure what that means. But Bashore's a comp first-rounder, not a bad day at all for him or the Hoosiers in general.

--------------- UPDATE: 9:07 p.m. Josh Phegley was just selected No. 38 overall by the Chicago White Sox in the compensation round. The MLB guys like his bat but wonder a bit about his defense. They give the pick the seal of approval, however.

Phegley was the Hoosiers' inarguable offensive leader over the last two seasons, and that's obvious the large part of his appeal to pro scouts. His experience calling his own game is also a plus, as well.

---------------- UPDATE: 8:40 p.m. We're passing into the second round in 15 minutes, with Josh Phegley and Matt Bashore both expected to go on Day 1 for sure. Stay with Inside Pitch, we'll be here all night.

---------------- UPDATE: 8:16 p.m. Eric Arnett is a Milwaukee Brewer. Or at least he'll hope to be one day.

He slipped from his projected slot at No. 15 to Cleveland, but the right-hander from Pataskala, Ohio, didn't fall that far, going at No. 26.

Arnett's draft stock skyrocketed after a 12-2 senior season with a 2.50 and an average of slightly better than an strikeout an inning. He's the latest in a slew of pitchers to go in a first round incredibly heavy on pitching.

"He was my No. 1 guy on video," said MLB Network pundit Harold Reynolds. "I loved this guy, I really did."

The MLB guys of course made the inevitable and necessary reference to Arnett's time with the IU basketball team as well, with reference to his athleticism, before Reynolds added: "I think he's closer than a lot of people think."

---------------- UPDATE: 7:34 p.m. The No. 15 slot has come and gone, and Eric Arnett is still on the board. The Indians, who had been tabbed to take Arnett, selected Alex White out of North Carolina.

---------------- Just got a press release announcing Steven Strasburg's selection by the Washington Nationals, shocking no one.

I'll be here all night covering the draft, and I'll let you know where the Hoosiers go as they go. Stick with us here at Inside Pitch.
