Hi all,

I don't know who saw this one coming because I certainly didn't.

The Hoosiers dropped yet another game today, falling to Indiana State 11-2 in junior catcher Josh Phegley's only homecoming of the season. The Terre Haute native, and Hoosiers best hitter, was kept at bay on the day -- so was the entire Hoosier lineup, who posted nine hits in comparison to the Sycamores 15 on the day.

What probably hurt the most was the three errors committed, which were attributed to second baseman Tyler Rogers (1) and shortstop Cody Webber (2).

Freshman pitcher Drew Leininger also had a tough outing, as he gave up five earned runs - eight total - in the two innings. When I talked to IU coach Tracy Smith he provided an explanation for giving the freshman his first start, while also honestly evaluating his performance.

"We've got to figure out what we've got," he said. "We need to figure out some of the other arms. I hate to use a cliche, but he played like a freshman."
