Today, junior wide receiver James Hardy declared himself eligible for the 2008 NFL Draft and will forgo his senior season at IU.

Hardy led all Hoosiers in receptions, yards, and touchdowns (79, 1125, 16, respectively) and set school records in all three categories. He became the Hoosiers all-time leader in receiving touchdowns, and is second on the list of total touchdowns with 35.

"After carefully examining my football career here at Indiana University, and consulting with my family, I have concluded that I have reached the pinnacle of my college football career," Hardy said. "Therefore, I have decided to forgo my senior year and declare myself eligible for the NFL Draft this spring. I would like to thank Indiana University for its support over these past few years. Finally, it is my fondest hope that I have the blessing of this great University and its supporters."

On ESPN.com, Hardy is listed as the number 7 overall wide receiver in the draft, and is projected as a possible late-first round pick.

What are your thoughts on Hardy going to the draft? Is it a smart move on his part, or does it upset you that he will forgo his final season? As always, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
