For anybody living under a rock, no pun intended, IU defeated Purdue last night 27-24 on a game-winning field goal by Austin Starr. The win gives the Hoosiers a 7-5 (3-5) record on the season. Purdue and Michigan State have the same record, and all three are tied for sixth place in the overall standings in the Big Ten.

Forget the conference records. It doesn't matter that Iowa has a better in-conference record than the Hoosiers. All seven win teams have to be extended a bowl bid before any six win teams - it's NCAA rules. With that in mind, now it's time for every fan to start thinking about which bowl the Hoosiers will play in. Though it's obviously not official that the Hoosiers are in a bowl, it's incredibly likely that they will be in, given they're one of the feel-good stories of the year.

From what I heard last night among the other reporters, the Hoosiers will most likely go to the Motor City Bowl or the Insight.com Bowl. Personally, I don't mind either. The Insight.com Bowl is at 3:30 pm on Dec. 31 in Arizona. The Motor City Bowl is at 7:00 on Dec. 26 in Detroit. So, basically, I could go to Windsor (you know, if gambling was legal - Bill Simmons does not have that line copyrighted) or I can get tan. Either way, I'm happy and you should be too.

This is a Hoosier team that had failed and played miserably from 1994-2006. Now, they broke whatever bad karma they had and ended the Big Ten's longest bowl drought.

So what are you guys thinking? Which bowl would you rather see the Hoosiers in and which bowls do you think they're capable of going to? Were you at the game last night and did you rush the field? Thanks for submitting your comments in advance.
