Indiana women’s basketball added its first incoming transfer in redshirt junior Iowa State University forward Alisa Williams on Monday, according to an X post from On3’s Talia Goodman. Williams has one year of eligibility remaining.
Williams played in all 32 games for the Cyclones this season as a redshirt junior, averaging 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while playing 11.7 minutes per game. Williams finished third on the team in both field goal percentage and free throw percentage, shooting 53.9% from the field and 80.8% from the free throw line.
Williams scored a career-high 14 points twice during Iowa State’s nonconference campaign, reaching the feat in wins over Sacred Heart University and Northern Illinois University. She also notched the first double-double of her career in a 98-52 victory over Norfolk State University, collecting 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Williams chose Louisiana State University out of high school where she won the 2023 NCAA National Championship. She played 58 minutes across 20 games as a true freshman, scoring 18 total points and pulling down 20 total rebounds.
Following her freshman season, Williams transferred to Iowa State where she redshirted the 2023-24 season. She appeared in all 35 games in her redshirt sophomore season, averaging 3.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
Six Hoosiers have entered the transfer portal, which opened Monday after the conclusion of the national championship. These include sophomore guards Phoenix Stotijn and Chloe Spreen, sophomore forward Faith Wiseman, junior forwards Jade Ondineme and Edessa Noyan and freshman guard Nevaeh Caffey. Noyan and Caffey started 21 and 32 games this season, respectively.
Alongside Williams, Indiana is bringing in the eighth strongest recruiting class in the nation, according to ESPN. Four-star center Zoe Jackson has enrolled early, while the Hoosiers have also brought in No. 28 wing Addison Nyemchek, No. 32 guard Gigi Battle and No. 64 guard Ashlinn James.
