A week after Indiana women’s basketball’s season likely ended with a loss to Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament, the Hoosiers lost their first player to the transfer portal. Sophomore guard Phoenix Stotijn intends to enter the transfer portal, per On3 Sports’ Talia Goodman’s X post Thursday.

Stotijn spent just one season with the Hoosiers after transferring to Indiana from the University of Arkansas prior to the 2025-26 season. The 5-foot-9 guard made 24 appearances for the Hoosiers this season, averaging 14.3 minutes, 2.1 points, one assist and .7 rebounds per contest. Stotijn shot 26% from the field and 12.8% from 3-point range during her stint with Indiana.

At Arkansas, the Amsterdam, Netherlands, native made 21 appearances and 12 starts. She averaged 7.2 points and 2.1 assists per contest as a freshman for the Razorbacks.

Stotijn is the first Hoosier to enter the transfer portal this season, but she’s the third departure, as senior guards Shay Ciezki and Jerni Kiaku leave the program due to graduation.

Indiana, which likely finished this season with an 18-14 overall record and 6-12 mark in the Big Ten, is slated to bring in the eighth best recruiting class next season, according to ESPN. The class includes No. 28 wing Addison Nyemchek, No. 32 guard Gigi Battle, No. 64 guard Ashlinn James and four-star center Zoe Jackson.
