Arbor Day in Indiana is a Day to Put Down Roots!
Bloomington Parks and Recreation invites you to Rogers Family Park, 2000 E. Winslow Rd., at 9 a.m. Friday, April 24 for a ceremony celebrating Arbor Day and Bloomington's 42nd consecutive year of being named a Tree City USA.
Following the ceremony, Parks and Recreation Urban Forestry crews and tree-loving volunteers will plant 23 new trees in the park!
Festivities begin at the red barn at Rogers Family Park. There is bench and picnic table seating available at the barn, but no restrooms or water. Please bring a water bottle and dress for the weather!
Volunteers will assist our Urban Forestry staff as we plant balled and burlapped trees. Gloves, shovels, and on-site training are all provided. Register to volunteer at https://cerv.is/0286x1180
A limited number of vehicle parking spaces are available on the north end of Rogers Family Park. Use the southernmost exit on the Winslow/High/Rogers roundabout to access parking.
Additional vehicle parking is available at Sherwood Oaks Park, 1600 E. Elliston Dr. in the Sherwood Oaks neighborhood, and at Olcott Park, 2300 E. Canada Dr. in The Stands neighborhood.
