Indiana football didn’t land a transfer over the first two days the transfer portal was open. But in less than seven hours Sunday, the Hoosiers secured three transfers.
Defensive lineman Tobi Osunsanmi became the third commit Sunday afternoon, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel’s report.
Osunsanmi joins the Hoosiers after four seasons at Kansas State University and has one season of eligibility remaining. He is ranked as the 28th-best player and fourth-best edge rusher in the portal as of Sunday, according to 247Sports.
He previously arrived in Manhattan, Kansas, as a four-star recruit ranked as the 235th-best player in the 2022 class.
Osunsanmi played four games during his freshman season in 2022, preserving his redshirt season. Then, in 2023, he saw action in all 13 of the Wildcats’ contests as a reserve linebacker. He made nine total tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack and one forced fumble.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Osunsanmi switched positions and became a defensive end in 2024. He notched 19 total tackles, 5.5 TFLs and 3.5 sacks over 13 games.
Osunsanmi turned in the best statistical season of his collegiate career in 2025. He accumulated 20 total tackles, 6 TFLs and four sacks during what became his final season with the Wildcats.
The Wichita, Kansas, native entered the portal Dec. 19 due to a coaching change, as former Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman retired and was succeeded by Texas A&M offensive coordinator Collin Klein.
Osunsanmi was surely a part of the 13-player group that Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti said were on campus during a press conference Saturday. Osunsanmi joins former Wisconsin safety Preston Zachman and former Michigan State receiver Nick Marsh as players to pledge to the Hoosiers on Sunday.
Osunsanmi will now be tasked with helping replace all sorts of production on Indiana’s defensive line. Mikail Kamara, Stephen Daley, Kellan Wyatt, Dominique Ratcliff and Hosea Wheeler will each exhaust their eligibility at season’s end.
So, Osunsanmi should have the ability to make an immediate impact for defensive ends coach Buddha Williams in Bloomington.
