Not only did Indiana football notch the biggest win of its 2025 season Thursday in the Rose Bowl, it also earned arguably the top transfer receiver’s commitment Sunday.
Former Michigan State receiver Nick Marsh committed to the Hoosiers, according to On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett’s X post. Marsh previously entered the transfer portal Dec. 1 — the day after Michigan State fired former head coach Jonathan Smith — and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Marsh comes to Indiana after two seasons at Michigan State, where he cemented himself as one of the premier receivers in the Big Ten. He previously arrived in East Lansing as a four-star recruit ranked as the 30th-best receiver and 176th-best player in the 2024 class.
Marsh played 11 of the Spartans’ 12 games in 2024, catching 41 passes for 649 yards and three touchdowns. The 6-foot-3, 203-pound Marsh made 59 receptions in 2025 for 662 yards and nine touchdowns and earned All-Big Ten honorable mention.
Although Marsh lost to Indiana in each of the past two seasons, he turned in quality performances against the Hoosiers. The Detroit, Michigan, native made a combined 12 receptions for 142 yards and two scores.
Marsh visited Bloomington throughout the weekend and is the second player the Hoosiers added Sunday, as former Wisconsin safety Preston Zachman committed to the Cream and Crimson on Sunday morning.
Marsh now joins Indiana’s receiving corps that must replace its top production next season. Both Elijah Sarratt and E.J. Williams Jr. will exhaust their eligibility at the conclusion of the Hoosiers’ season. Redshirt junior Omar Cooper Jr. could also opt to enter the NFL draft, paving the way for Marsh to potentially lead the unit over the next two seasons.
