A Nashville, Indiana, man turned himself in to police Wednesday in connection with an assault that occurred Sept. 26 on the 400 block of East Kirkwood Avenue.

Blake Bell, 19, had an outstanding arrest warrant for the charge of battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony, according to Bloomington Police Department Captain Ryan Pedigo.

Bell is the fourth person arrested in connection with the crime. He was the last person of interest in the case, Pedigo said.

Police arrested Avery Williams, 25 and Khalil Morris, 21, on Sept. 29 and charged both with battery resulting in serious bodily injury for their alleged role in the assault. A 16-year-old was arrested on the same charge on Sept. 29 and transferred to a secure juvenile facility.

BPD received a report of an assault at approximately 11:35 p.m. Sept. 26. When officers arrived at the scene, the victim had visible facial injuries, including several missing teeth, according to an email from Pedigo. The victim told police he got into a verbal argument with the men because he thought one may have stolen his phone, which then escalated.

Williams and Morris were armed with handguns, Pedigo said, but they were not used in the assault.
