IUPD receives report of Sept. 12 sexual assault at Forest Residence Hall

The Indiana University Police Department received a report of sexual assault Tuesday, according to an IU Crime Notice. The incident reportedly occurred around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Forest Quadrangle residence hall.

The suspect was reported to have conversed with the victim on Wizz, a social media platform that allows strangers to message each other based on common interests. Afterwards, the victim invited the suspect into her dorm room, according to the IU Crime Notice. The suspect then reportedly engaged in nonconsensual sexual acts with the victim.

In the notice, the suspect is described as a man 19-20 years old, around 5’10” and weighing approximately 140 pounds. IUPD encourages anyone with information on the incident to call them at 812-855-4111.
