All IU campuses to participate in tornado drill Tuesday

A tornado drill will take place at all IU campuses on Tuesday morning.

The drill will occur between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time for all campuses other than IU Northwest, where it will occur between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. Central Time, according to an email from IU Notify.

Those on campus are asked to review building evacuation plans before the drill. IU Notify will send an alert when the drill begins. Tornado sirens will also be active.

All students, faculty and staff on campus are expected to take part in the drill by seeking shelter as if it were a real tornado warning, according to the email. The drill is part of Indiana’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week.

All IU campuses other than IU Fort Wayne are currently on spring break.

If real severe weather occurs, the drill will be rescheduled for March 15 at the same time.
