An IU Bloomington Alert, sent around 9 p.m. Monday, alerted students to a dangerous situation near the Indiana Memorial Union.
People should stay away from the area, according to the alert. The alert did not offer details, but instructed students to follow authorities’ instructions and call 911 with any information.
According to another IUB alert, the subject barricaded themself in the IMU Biddle Hotel and police are negotiating with the individual now.
All hotel guests have been safely evacuated, according to a phone call with the front desk.
Deputy Chief Shannon Bunger confirmed no shots have been fired at this time, according to Andrew Smith on Twitter.
