Indiana men’s basketball announced its 2021-22 schedule Wednesday ahead of the first season under head coach Mike Woodson and the first with fans in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in two years.
Indiana opens its season Nov. 9 at Assembly Hall against Eastern Michigan University in the first game under Woodson. The Eagles were 6-12 last season.
Big Ten play begins for Indiana on Dec. 4 at home against Nebraska. The Cornhuskers finished 7-20 and last place in the Big Ten a season ago.
The Hoosiers will play last season’s conference co-champions, Illinois and Michigan, once each in Bloomington. Indiana’s other single-play conference games are Rutgers at home, and Michigan State, Northwestern and Iowa on the road. The Hoosiers play the rest of the conference twice with a home and away game.
Purdue comes to Assembly Hall on Jan. 20, 2022. Indiana has lost to Purdue nine times in a row. The Hoosiers will travel to Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana, to face the Boilermakers on Saturday, March 5, the final game of the regular season — a building they have not won in since 2013.
