Five non-partisan organizations in Monroe County are organizing voter registration drives to celebrate National Voter Registration Day on Sept. 28.

The Bloomington Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the Bloomington-Monroe County chapter of the League of Women Voters, the Monroe County branch of the NAACP, the Monroe County chapter of NOW and Reverse Citizens United are sponsoring the registration drives.

“All who are eligible to vote are urged to take a moment on National Voter Registration Day to

check their voter registration status and, if unregistered, to register to vote,” the press release said. “For democracy to work for all, eligible voters need to be sure they are registered and are ‘vote ready’ before the primary and mid-term elections in 2022.”
