IU men’s soccer takes No. 1 spot in Top Drawer Soccer’s rankings

IU men’s soccer moved up one spot and took over as the No. 1 ranked team in the country in this week’s Top Drawer Soccer’s rankings Monday. 

The Hoosiers won their first game of the season against the University of Notre Dame 3-2 last Thursday, thanks to junior midfielder Ben Yeagley’s overtime golden goal. 

IU overtook Marshall University after being in the No. 2 spot in last week. Marshall lost to Virginia Tech 3-2 Sunday and dropped to No. 4 this week. 

The Hoosiers will play their home opener against Butler University at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bill Armstrong Stadium. Butler opened its season with a 0-0 draw against Oakland University last Thursday.
