An IU-Notify alert was issued at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a subject with a gun in the area of 18th Street and North Lincoln Street.
IU Police Department Capt. Craig Munroe said Bloomington Police Department responded to the call but IUPD issued an alert because of the high demographic of students in the area.
BPD Sgt. Benjamin Burns said the case is under investigation and there is no immediate threat to anyone in the area at this time.
