Pedestrian struck, killed by train spurs investigation by sheriff's office

 

A 24-year-old man was hit and killed by a train Aug. 27.

According to a press release from Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields, Kevin Magee of Bloomington was killed by a train at around 7:30 p.m. Aug. 27.

The incident occurred in the 2700 block of West Third Street. According to the release, it is still unclear why Magee was on the train tracks. 

The release stated a toxicology report is in progress but will take around two weeks to receive the results. Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
