Gov. Eric Holcomb was appointed a member of American Workforce Policy Advisory Board by adviser to the president Ivanka Trump and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

Holcomb is one of 25 members on the board, which will work with the National Council for the American Worker, established by executive order in July 2018.

The council’s mission is to help America’s workforce adjust to the changes of the 21st century, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s press release.

The board will help the council develop a campaign promoting multiple education pathways and help job applicants better meet the needs of modern-day companies, according to the release.

Holcomb and the other members’ terms will last until July 2020.
