IU women’s soccer had 16 members named to the Academic All-Big Ten list earlier this afternoon.

Student athletes have to earn at least a 3.0 GPA, play at some point in the 2017 season and play on their respective team for at least two seasons.

The Hoosiers' 16 players recognized is the most since 2013 when IU had 17 on the list. The team has had at least 14 members named every year since 2010.

Sophomore midfielder Allison Jorden was one of 18 Big Ten student athletes with a 4.0 GPA.

It’s the third time being honored for seniors Kayla Smith and Kylie Kirk and junior forward Annelie Leitner. Juniors Abby Allen, Caroline Dreher, Justine Lynn, Maya Piper and Mykayla Brown earned it for the second consecutive year.

It’s a first-time honor for sophomores Chandra Davidson, Julia Gilliam, Jorden, Emma Kershner, Sydney Kilgore, Kyndal McKinney, Macy Miller and Meghan Scott.
