A woman was woken up at approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday as a friend attempted to have sex with her at her home near Henderson Court on the south side of Bloomington.
The male friend had been over earlier and had been drinking with the woman and her husband.
When she woke up, the woman screamed, and the male friend fled from the home without raping her. At the time, the woman’s husband was sleeping on the couch in the apartment while the woman was in her bedroom.
The husband and wife then went to the Bloomington police station at 6:50 a.m. and filed a report.
BPD Lt. Brad Seifers said after the report was filed the police took her to the hospital for a rape kit.
