DeWeese expected to take plea deal

Michael Deweese

Michael DeWeese, 20, signed a plea deal Thursday and told Monroe County Judge Marc Kellams he intends to plea guilty next week.

DeWeese, along with Vaylen Keishaun Glazebrook, 20, is charged with breaking into a Bloomington apartment and raping two IU students at gunpoint in November 2014.

The contents of the plea deal aren't currently public.

"Because it's not apart of official court record we can't ethically share the plea deal arrangement," Prosecutor Jeff Kehr said.

The agreement won't be public until the judge approves of the deal and the defendant has shown evidence of his guilt, Kehr said.

DeWeese has 15 felony charges, including attempted murder, rape and armed robbery as well as others. In the plea deal, DeWeese may plead guilty to any of these charges and some may be altered or dropped.

DeWeese is expected to take the deal and plead guilty at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 10, in Judge Marc Kellams’ court.
