“We’re honored by this award not only because of the recognition for our work in ITS, but the recognition of partnerships with other city departments to put ITS to work for our residents,” Information and Technology Services Director Rick Dietz said in a press release.
“This award recognizes the depth of our information technology initiatives in Bloomington.”
The Center for Digital Government recognized Bloomington as one of the top 10 cities nationally.
Bloomington also won in the category of cities of 75,000 to 125,000 people, according to a press release.
The award specifically mentioned three apps: GeoReporter 311, Transit Bus Tracking and RentRocket, according to the press release.
Other technological programs that were mentioned in Bloomington’s application were inRoads, uReport, MyBloomington and Certified Tech Park, according to the press release.
“Many employees throughout the city have contributed directly or indirectly to these projects,” Mayor Mark Kruzan said in a press release. “I would like to thank ITS and everyone else for all of the work that they have done to make this award possible.”
