Man arrested on his birthday for various crimes

Dustin R. Grubb of Bloomington was arrested Sunday, his 20th birthday, on preliminary charges of domestic battery, burglary, criminal recklessness, intimidation and interfering with the reporting of a crime, according to a Bloomington Police Department arrest report.

BPD officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment on the 500 block of South Basswood Drive at about 11:39 p.m. Sunday. When Grubb arrived at an ex-girlfriend’s apartment to retrieve some of his belongings, he reportedly forced the door open and pushed his ex-girlfriend, Lt. Brad Seifers said.

The woman did not sustain any injuries, but Grubb was arrested. He was also arrested on preliminary charges of alleged crimes stemming from an incident that occurred March 11 with a different ex-girlfriend when he attempted to retrieve property he said belonged to him, ?Seifers said.

Grubb reportedly got into a confrontation with the woman where he displayed a handgun and threatened to kill her, although he never pointed the gun at her, Seifers said.
