Bloomington Police Department identifies person of interest related to strangulation death

The Bloomington Police Department has identified Eric Quentin Johnson as a person of interest in the murder of 32-year-old Teresa Michael, BPD said in a press release Thursday.

BPD found Michael dead after being strangled Jan. 28 in her apartment located in the 500 block of South Basswood Drive. Police originally responded to a call for a fire, according to a press release from the Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields.

Police warn Johnson is armed and dangerous, according to a BPD press release. He is described as a 30-year-old man with brown eyes and black hair, 5’10” and 185 pounds, according to the press release.

If Johnson is seen, citizens should not approach him and instead call 911.

BPD is searching for Michael’s car which is a silver 2007 Dodge Caliber with the Indiana license plate 619DNS.

Anyone with information on Johnson, Michael’s vehicle or suspicious activity around the apartment complex Jan. 28 is asked to call Detective Chris Scott at (812) 349-3382.
